About
Hi, I'm Ellie 👋
Apparently every website needs a bio, so naturally I outsourced mine to ChatGPT. If this starts sounding suspiciously articulate, now you know why.
I've spent the last 10 years making brands look interesting on the internet. I started life as a graphic designer before accidentally falling into social advertising, where I've somehow convinced companies like Google, Jaguar Land Rover, Starbucks, O2, Vodafone, Audi, Range Rover and Castrol to let me come up with ideas for them.
These days I specialise in social-first creative, campaign ideas, influencer marketing, art direction and making people voluntarily stop scrolling for at least three seconds. I love taking a vague brief, overthinking it just enough, and turning it into something people actually want to watch, share or talk about.
Because I come from a design background, I still care far too much about typography, spacing, and whether that one pixel is actually aligned (it isn't). I like ideas that are clever, visuals that are beautiful, and campaigns that don't feel like adverts pretending not to be adverts.
Outside of work, I'm raising two boys, which is surprisingly good preparation for a career in social media. Both require patience, creativity, the ability to think on your feet, and accepting that no one is going to follow the brief. Between that, training for the London Marathon (which I promise not to mention again), and an ever-growing collection of cameras, life stays pretty busy.
And yes, I use AI. It's brilliant for getting past a blank page, bouncing around ideas and writing bios like this one. The good ideas, however, are still mine. (ChatGPT insisted I include that last sentence.)
